It's been a while since I've noticed an interesent thing - probably caused by my dual origins - i catch myself observing both with sort of snobism mixed with detachment and almost anthropological interest, with a priviledge of having "inside information". (have to work on it bcz its so hypocrite of me..)
Lately my attention was drawn to an outstandingly great interest that former soviets show in isoteric field, whe some focus on the knowledge such as teachings of great masters, philosophy behind it, theories of how the world was created and functions, while others find fascinatingly credible things like horoscopes, magic, spells and so on.
With an unarmed eye it demands to be said that educated people look for knowledge and explanations while less educated and less big-world-ppl seek fortune tellers and ways to influence without being able to do so conventionally. But i'm going to make a mini-research on the subject..
As for the main reason for soviets to pay extra interest in those things - as usual it can be explained possibly by the restrictions that existed in communism - no religion, no abnormal thoughts/events, nothing magical to look forward to..so instead of looking for answers in religion, like european/american catholic or whatever faithful ppl do - they were urged to turn to fast-food-almighty mediums and magicians.
I am aware of the fact that this field of interest exists in every country (maybe not so popular in zimbabwe - their inflation is unpredictable so probably all mediums were killed after mistelling the future of dollar), but still russians seem to be all over it. I got a recommendation for a book, that turned out to be quite isoterical. every russian i told the name of the author was in awe, smiling happily saying that they've read it several times. noone else, from any country havent heard of it ever..it deserves a mini-research..

castaneda
started reading carlos castaneda..it blows my mind away
so far:
1.
and, what's not less important - know your friends. not wanna-bees, but your real ones.
2. the second instrument that appears in the book is the most important (and i hope i'm already there with this one) -
don't take urself too seriousely
personal importance is nonsense and has to be elominated. {at least now i have a nice explanation to me being a clown at the end of important meetings..sometimes from the very beginning..}
/**
its so gr8 (not) to learn smth and 5 mins later to have an opportunity to practice. i must admit that understanding the nonsense of selfimportance feeling turned out to be unexpectedly not-easy. well, every lesson comes when it's time, although as my educated friends say "coincidence is not necessarily a casualty".
so far:
1.
delete your personal history.let people comprehend you without labels or explanations, without history and prejudice - good or bad. people that know you "good" limitate your possibilities by their firm definitions of you.
and, what's not less important - know your friends. not wanna-bees, but your real ones.

sometimes
sometimes it's crucial to perform a small uber-bitch play in order to make ppl appreciate ur endless nice-ness and friendliness and remind them of an alternative.

clumsy by default
i decided that i'm clumsy be default and enjoy this fact very much because this way even if nothing interesting or exciting is happenning - your living will still be entertaining you..in case that you are self -jokable of course.
having an extraordinary day in it's boringness today i was going crazy. But the decision was to flow with it and spend a nice n easy eve - gym, home early, some more work, bed early and then maybe for a change work in time.
It begun by the book - speedy walking on the race i found out that Top Gear show was on - which made my speedy walking last about 45 miuntes instead of the intended 15. and of course i almost flew out of the race when they were spinning the wheel and i tried to lean to a side with the car on a screen, but happily i caught myself on time to avoid inter-gym-forever-joke.
some more excercises and i was out in the rain happy and fit. olimpic fit.
that was when i spotted a bus across the street willing to approach the bus stop. I made some calculations and started the olimpic strint towards the but stop against the time and the traffic light. it was an unfair competition, but i felt that walkin for 45 mins today made me strong and fast as a tiger. i was doing my very best results and the last meters we were almost even. Finally I made it to the bus on time, the driver was extatic almost clapping, congratulating me and I enterted the bus as a champion.
I took my seat. Opened the coat cause i could hardly breath. pulled my hair up. took the book out of the bag and stared at it still happy with meself. It was then when the bus made an unexpected and more than that - UNSCHEDULED turn right.
and no, i was not kidnapped ny terrorists, neither the driver was fulling around. It was not my bus.
when i stepped out of it i was in the middle of nowhere and very amused by this silly situation. luckily i reallized that my good old friend whom i havent seen for a while and was planning to during next week lives super close so in ten minutes we were having our coffee and donuts and laughing our hearts out.
that's what i call clumsy by default and enjoying every minute of it ;)

Third day in France:
- family can be fun
- part of them and in small amounts
- ppl under the age of 17 are the only purely sincere and generally good and kind homo-sapiens
- if you close ur eyes in all of the disney studios' attractions it feels the same as drinking and trying to go to sleep. if you close your eyes while my brother is driving - you'd better not! :)) if you want the best extreme speed attraction - save ur money - go driving with my brother and buy him good coffee with cake after that instead.
- love my niece very very
- even people that are supposed to know you very well surprise by their judgments and more than that - decisions. ego/hidden emotions/God knows what else..

Turkish protests
Plenty of people consider it a very dramatic moment - Turking protest against Peres and Israel. It's very touching. But also very interesting that short memory keep everyone from talking about how they (almost every country we can mention) treated their own minorities and neighbours.
Not nice. Hypoctiric.

Tired Gaza 2009

Starting with work. HAving in the office 3 sectors - russian, orthodox and arab during such a war is already crazy by default. In pracitce - it's even crazier. Third day of war (first working day) arabic copyrighter catches me at the coffee corner just in order to apologize for un-convinience of erasing my profile from his friends list in facebook. GENIOUS!
If you erased me due to your ideology (not to have israeli friends "until the ceazefire") than why are you telling me this? I would have never noticed - considering that my communication with the guy via facebook equals to zero.
Of course I made a laughing/furious face (to confuse the opponent ;)) and demanded to return my friendship right away or i'll be really furious. noone wants to be around a furious russian. Well. he did - in 20 seconds. So now instead of having a silent israeli friend, the guy had our friendly relations on the front page in bid letters "** is now friends with **. Super! So that if he tried to conceal from his arab friends the fact of having any israelis in friends' list - now he had it written in capital letters ;))
wanna fo to sleep, so just smth small to sum up with - the good thing about living in Tel Aviv is that when u want to ne involved - you open ur mailbox/news/forums/LJ/facebook. But if you dont do that - you get peace and love all around you.
p.s.2
Just back form a journey to Jerusalem, amoth other attractions - for the first time I entered the area of the sacred arabic mountain (dont remember the name, lazy to look up in wiki) - gorgeous!! even though coming close to the main musque was strictly prohibited - 5 euro bought us a glimpse through the window which a very business-oriented muslim guy opened expecially for us ;))
p.s.3
yesterday practiced running. lol

Links and articles
Working as a PR director I tend not to mix business and pleasure, so only once I'm publishing few interesting war-related links and that's it

Walking In Israel’s Shoes
While the newspapers and airwaves are filled with pictures of Palestinian killed or wounded by Israel thanks to careful manipulation by Hamas, the European and American press ignore the Israeli victims that are behind the Israeli attacks. This fits “the narrative” that Israel is an apartheid, terrorist state while the Arabs are the oppressed, allowing the terrorists to use the consciences of Jews, Europeans and Americans as cover for their killing spree.
Since 2000 Islamic terror groups have launched 10,046 rockets and mortars at Israel, most falling within a 20 km band from Gaza. Of these, terror groups launched 7,000 after Israel quit the Gaza Strip in 2005. The attacks killed or wounded nearly 300 Israelis (est), a ratio of roughly 35 missiles for each Israeli casualty

IMPORTANT TO ALL PARTICIPANTS OF EXPLANATION ON THE NET ACTION
***************************************************************************************************************
BLoggers and web-participation is a very distinguishing feature of this war. In order to make your participation worthy and serve your goal - which is to explain your own position and reflect the reality from your point of view please pay attention to few highly important things:
1. Watch your language
2. Remember that the purpose is explanation and not a competition who can "set the the biggest fire".
3. Express your opinion using facts and arguments rather than emotions. Expressing frustration and aggression (even the most justified ones) give birth to more aggression, both at your opponents' and your supporters' while reasonable arguments and facts can make ppl think it over or at least treat you (and now you represent the whole nation) with more respect and maybe an option for understanding
Let the world know the naked truth from the first source - YOU

We have waited patiently for so long.
Held our weapons back,
The same weapons made to protect our right to exist in our own country.
We ground our teeth while missiles were fired on our citizens, our children, parents and brothers.
We hoped the hatred could be stopped with words, contracts, negotiations. Evicted people from their homes for the sake of peace,
But you kept shooting at us for the past 8 years.
Eight years of fire towards innocent people.
We kept quiet, because we do not wish for war or killing.
You, on the other hand, threaten and fire without halt.
You interpret our silence as weakness.
Instead of using your money to improve the living conditions in Gaza, you purchase weapons with only one goal in mind, to harm and kill the Israeli people.
We are tired of wars and you use that fact to try destroying us.
We swore to our families who lost their lives in the holocaust, that NO MORE!

The brutal war machines are manned by our soldiers day and night, awaiting command.
Soldiers, young boys and girls, who fight for our security instead of spending time with their friends and families.
You have repeatedly disregarded our immense restraint and kept aiming expensive missiles at us- Artillery used for one purpose only- To kill us.
Who is to say when enough is ENOUGH!
I wish all the valiant soldiers who fight for the safety of Israeli citizens a safe return to their homes and families.
I wish your children - our enemies\' - children to be safe, to live long prosperous lives without losing oneself to their parents\' stupidity and hatred.
What kind of parents hide behind the bed of their little children, behind the dresses of their wives?
Despite it all, we wish to stop only those who harm us.
We do not wish to hurt the innocent.
We do not think lightly of guns as you do, our fingers press the triggers with great reluctance.

We target our planes as a surgeon targets its\' scalpel, slowly and carefully.
Between you and us there is only one difference, we do not have a choice but to defend ourselves from your attack.
We did not choose war.
Return home safely Israeli defense forces - an army with a sole purpose, to defend Israel!

Orthodox Santa
location: public cab, somewhere between Petah Tiqwa (religious serious city) and Tel Aviv (...)
time: 2 p.m. New Year
A group of semi-drunk army-aged young guys and two girls were in a cab on their way from a boring city of "in Israel there cannot be such a thing as New Year bcs God will get upset" to Tel Aviv, that looks like a totally different non-stop partying country. At some point two probably serbian women and a man joined the merry company.
In efforts to make an imression on the girls, guys started making small jokes, but considering that when you are drunk there is no low voice in the spectrum of human abilities, women heard that and a loud drunken arguement started:
- Hey, we were celebrating, don't laugh at us (serbian accent in russian didnt help to stop the giggling)
- yeah, we are not laughing (heheheheheheh)
- Shall I show you what will you get if you dont stop?
- Oh,...yeah..c'mon...aha....
And so on for the next ten minutes, until all of a sudden...the cab stopped to pick another passenger and an orthodox ultra religiuos man walked in wearring traditional white shirt, black suit, huge hat, white tziziyot and those curls of wisdom. He assumed that the present ppl were celebrating the forbidden holiday and of course he'd better not know how the population goes down and there is no tomorrow in such tempo. So he tried to ignore the company as hard as he could and look at some unknown direction, when on eof the guys, still staring at the rabbi shouted happily :
- And here is SANTA CLAUS!!!!!
At this point everybody in the cab burst out in laughter and immedeately decided that they have to join forces vs the santa ;)) Needledd to say - Santa made a "omg, plz make those sinners that just ruined my ticket to heaven disappear"..but they didnt.
It was such a fun-ride, totally in the spirit of holiday!
